The family travels by sailboat, yacht, air, or sometimes by motorcycle. Naomi Loomis and her husband enjoy riding their custom choppers to motorcycling events in Florida. The pair attended last year’s Bike Week 2013 in Daytona, Beach and hopes to make it back to this year’s event.

Bike Week has been held annually for 72 years, making it one of the country’s most popular motorcycle rallies. The 2013 event began on March 8th and ran through March 17, featuring popular attractions such as motorcycle races, exhibitions, and events.

Major motorcycle manufacturers had a presence at the event as well, with many setting up special presentations to unveil their newest products. Harley Davidson fans were able to ride the company’s new Breakout while American Pickers star Mike Wolfe debuted Indian Motorcycle’s Thunder Stroke 111 V-Twin. Parts and accessories manufacturers were not left out either, with Darkside Scientific notably introducing its new line of electroluminescent paint.

Naomi Loomis and the rest of the attendees had a chance to participate in many events, such as:

2013 Bike Week Raffle: One lucky attendees won the 2013 Official Bike Week Motorcycle. This 2012 Street Glide customized by Harley Davidson of Daytona had an estimated value of $35,000.

Annual Coleslaw Wrestling Competition: This offbeat event has become a fan-favorite as it pits twelve female contestants against one another for a chance at the $500 cash prize. Contestants must wrestle in a wing covered with shredded cabbage.

Rat’s Hole Custom Bike Show: A staple of Bike Week for the last 41 years, this event allows custom builders to compete for one of several handmade trophies.

Willie’s Tropical Tattoo Old School Chopper Show: A unique take on long-running custom builder competitions, this event draws competitors from garages and small shops across the country. These competitors are know for being more likely to create new parts by reinventing old parts instead of ordering from a catalog.
